O Emmy 2024 consagrou “Xógum – A Gloriosa Saga do Japão”, “Hacks” e “Bebê Rena” como, respectivamente, melhor série drama, melhor série de comédia e melhor série limitada ou antologia.
Embora “The Bear” viesse como a grande favorita ao prêmio de melhor comédia, este acabou indo para “Hacks”, série da HBO e da Max estrelada por Jean Smart e Hannah Einbeinder que também levou mais dois prêmios na noite: Smart faturou a estatueta de melhor atriz em série de comédia e o trio Lucia Aniello, Paul W. Downs e Jen Statsky levou o prêmio de melhor roteiro.
A segunda temporada de “The Bear”, por sua vez, também não saiu de mãos vazias. A série ganhou os prêmios de melhor ator coadjuvante (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), melhor ator (Jeremy Allen White), melhor atriz coadjuvante (Liza Cólon-Zayas) e melhor direção (Christopher Storer) em série de comédia. Mesmo assim, não ter levado o grande prêmio da noite foi uma surpresa, já que vinha como a franca favorita em apostas de especialistas.
Nos campos de série dramática e série limitada, não houve muitas surpresas. O drama medieval “Xógum” foi consagrado com três prêmios, finalizando o Emmy 2024 com 17 estatuetas (a série já havia levado 14 troféus no Creative Arts Emmys, dedicado às categorias técnicas). Por fim, o hit “Bebê Rena” terminou a noite com quatro prêmios: melhor ator (Richard Gadd), melhor atriz (Jessica Gunning), melhor roteiro (Gadd), e melhor série limitada ou antológica.
A 76ª edição do Emmy Awards foi apresentada por Eugene e Dan Levy, pai e filho responsáveis pela comédia “Schitt’s Creek”, grande campeã do Emmy 2020. Ao longo da noite, a cerimônia prestou homenagens a várias séries consagradas da TV norte-americana, como “E.R.”, “West Wing”, “Murphy Brown” e outras. A transmissão foi exibida no Brasil pela Max e pelo canal TNT.
